All About Alex

I'm a twenty-something born and raised in the suburbs of Los Angeles. I spent a few years on the east coast, but now find myself living closer to home in the Bay Area, California.

I like music (more on this in a bit), dancing, music+dancing, cheap, delicious food, and doggies (big, huggable ones). I also like designing websites.

I played the horn growing up, and a bit of piano. I have a strong preference for tonal, orchestral writing, which means I mostly listen to two genres of music: Romantic classical and film scores. Of those composers belonging to the former, I am especially fond of the Russians.

I use this blog as a way of keeping a record of my thoughts, mostly on music. However, I do not hold a degree in music, nor am I professional musician or instrumentalist, so my limited grasp of music theory and history is all I have to offer.
